Wow where do I start. Having been a regular visitor to Moores Bar since 2011, when I became a member of Spurs Supporters Spain, I have never had the good fortune to attend one of the Christmas Parties and felt a little incomplete having not had that experience. Well, now that I have,, I can only say that it did not disappoint me.
To start the day off, we had of course, one of the top fixtures of any Premier League season, Manchester Utd v THFC, it looks such a special game on paper don’t you think! On the day though I did not think so, The Mancs played better than they have done for a while, whilst The Spurs played below par yet again. 1 – 0 to Man Utd, a bitter defeat, and heads hung low for a time, but hey, Party time, so let’s get started.
The party kicked off with a massive spread of food, covering corner to corner of the pool table, just waiting for all of us disappointed fans to do some comfort stodging. We all had plenty, and there definitely was plenty, a massive thank you to Martin and Paula for treating us all to such a fine feast.
After the food of course, the Spurs Supporters Spain, Grand Raffle. Everyone had now had the chance to see the raffle table laden with wonderful gifts, gratefully donated from the members, friends of the bar and of course Mr Moore.
The draw, kicked off with lots of whistles and cheers as people came forward to claim their prizes, a full 35 minutes before the last ticket was drawn. The quality of gifts and the donations made was really impressive, I think everyone who donated should be proud of themselves for entering into the spirit of Christmas, thank you to everyone.
The party continued well into the evening, with more than a drink or two, a bit of dancing and a good old sing along with Chas & Dave (we know how to party). The evening came to a close around midnight, not a bad innings considering most people arrived and we’re ready to party before kick off.
I just want to say a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who helped with the Raffle Draw, Doreen, Graeme, Grace and Richard and on the outside, calling the numbers, Smudger our resident Gooner.
Thank you also to all our non Spurs friends, for your generous support in the Christmas Raffle and the Weekly Prize draw throughout the season. Thank you to Chrissy and Ismael for making sure that whatever information we send is posted on our website and Facebook page.
Finally what could I do without Lesley by my side to guide me and do all the clever stuff, thanks Les for all your hard work with the raffle, everything admin and for your organisation throughout the season.
Finally a really big thank you to Martin and Paula for providing us with such a lovely Christmas Buffet, and Doreen for all your help. It was a wonderful Christmas Party and a really enjoyable evening.
